Our Project Portfolio

New Energies Group (NEG) brings deep technical and strategic expertise to the research, design, and development of renewable energy and energy storage projects across the United States. Our team has successfully supported the deployment of solar, wind, and energy storage projects ranging from 50 kW to 100 MW, spanning both distribution-level and transmission-connected systems. With more than 15 years of hands-on experience, NEG delivers end-to-end support—from early-stage planning through feasibility analysis and project development.

We work extensively with municipal utilities, electric cooperatives, public power districts, and governmental and nonprofit organizations, serving as trusted partners in renewable energy planning and execution. Over the past eight years, NEG team members have collaborated with local utility partners across more than a dozen states, supporting renewable initiatives for over 50 municipalities and distribution utilities nationwide. Our services frequently include techno-economic feasibility studies, helping partners evaluate project viability, optimize system design, and make informed investment decisions.

At the core of our work is a commitment to delivering affordable, reliable, and sustainable energy solutions. NEG aligns closely with the goals of our utility partners, prioritizing certainty, resilience, and long-term value across every project. By leveraging innovative technologies and disciplined design choices, we deliver energy solutions that make technical, economic, and environmental sense—maximizing performance today while strengthening energy systems for the future.

Informative Interview

Midwest Municipal Solar Portfolio (Multi-State)

Supported a portfolio of municipal solar projects across Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Nebraska, ranging from 50 kW rooftop systems to 20+ MW ground-mounted facilities.

Tri-State G&T Community Solar Initiative (Colorado)

Worked with electric cooperative partners to evaluate and design multiple community solar installations serving rural and suburban customers.

Outcome: Expanded customer access to renewable energy, improved member engagement, and supported compliance with evolving state clean energy targets.

Utility Renewable Planning Programs (Texas)

Our group assisted public power utilities with long-term renewable energy planning, including wind, solar, and energy storage resource assessments across transmission- and distribution-connected assets.

Outcome: Delivered a diversified renewable portfolio strategy that strengthened energy security, reduced fuel price volatility, and improved long-term system economics.

Community Solar Development (IL and WY)

Developed and executed community solar and LMI-focused programs, including FEJA-enabled low-income solar initiatives (Illinois Power Agency) and the Jackson Hole 1 MW LMI solar project (40% low-income allocation).
